Okay! I stole this from rose_of_pain. Let's see if I can keep up on it!


My first cosplay (that I knew of as cosplay) was Nuriko from Fushigi Yuugi.

Yeah. That one, only I went with after he'd cut his hair because I didn't use a wig. Nope! I'd just bleached the hell out of my own hair and dyed it purple.

Anyway, the costume itself was made out of broadcloth from WalMart and it was the first time I'd ever done something like that so I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. Mom helped me with it by trying to make the pants for me while I was out... only somewhere she got mixed up and the crotch became the legs and the legs became the crotch. Worked great if you had stubby legs and had just taken a MASSIVE dump. Pete even put them on and was waddling around the house in teeny tiny steps. We couldn't stop laughing over it XD In the end, they turned out just fine.

The result... Because I ♥ you all, I'll post it. Anywho, this is the only picture I have ever put online of this costume.



This costume still exists. It's in a box with several other costumes that I've packed up and put away. I keep it because it was my first and it gives me something to look back on and say "this is where I started". It's like a gauge to see how far I've come.

...um, I'm really hoping that I've improved somewhat since then. XD

^.^ Hey I still have fond memories of hanging out with you and that Chichiri at Otakon also in my very first costume. lol I still find it ironic/hilarious that we hung out in our very first cosplays back then and then met again much later on in life without realizing this.

I do too! It's one of the very few things I remember from my first con :D

You know, I remember picking that costume cos I thought it would be easy. Boy was I wrong XD.
