Scare tactics that were meant to keep men in line ages ago are still scare tactics. Just because they're OLD scare tactics written in a book that was written and edited by man doesn't mean they're actually coming to pass. Ever played Telephone, Mr. Camping? If 25 people can screw up a sentence in a few minutes, just think how screwed up something will get over thousands of years!
